A little encouragement was all
Alphonzo Brown needed to put his ambition to work, land a job in
the high-growth technology field and grow a small business. That
encouragement came in the form of a scholarship through the
Louisville Metro Housing Authority and help from staff members Diane
Foster and Clark Cox. When Alphonzo, a former Clarksdale resident,
expressed an interest in college, both Foster and Cox guided him
in the right direction. As a result of their guidance and support,
Alphonzo successfully completed his Associate Degree from the RETS
Institute of Technology. After graduation, Alphonzo accepted a
position at Anthem where he was recently promoted to Senior Imaging
Technician. In addition to working with Anthem, Alphonzo also
operates a graphics and printing company, Brownleaf Graphics and
Printing LLC. "The Housing Authority gave me the tools I needed
to grow," says Alphonzo.
