Section 8 Rental Assistance Process

The following steps must be completed:

1. Complete the pre-application form - the original application must be mailed to the post office box.

2. Attend a new family orientation meeting.

3. Make an appointment to meet with a representative to determine your eligibility in order to participate in the Section 8 program.

4. Attend a briefing session during which time you will receive your Section 8 voucher, information on leasing a unit and the Section 8 program specifics.

5. Locate a unit to lease.

Eligibility Determination

If you fail to: 1) complete steps 1, 2, or 3; (2) keep an appointment; or (3) complete the certification process, your application may be ineligible for further consideration. If you are determined ineligible you will receive written notice with information concerning your rights.
