Peter Claver Sheppard Square Family Resource Center
Formally Opens with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
LOUISVILLE, KY
On Tuesday, August 24, 2004 Mayor Jerry Abramson was joined by Michael
Liu, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing, U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development, and other dignitaries at a ribbon-cutting
ceremony for the St. Peter Claver Sheppard Square Family Resource
Center at 11:00AM.
In 2002, the Archdiocese
of Louisville donated St. Peter Claver to the Louisville Metro Housing
Authority (LMHA). Renovated by YouthBuild in cooperation with LMHA,
the facility will serve as a community and computer center, and
house the Sheppard Square Public Housing Developments Resident
Council Office.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony
was held at the St. Peter Claver Sheppard Square Family Resource
Center located at 536 East Lampton Street, off Clay Street.
