St. Peter Claver Sheppard Square Family Resource Center
Formally Opens with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

LOUISVILLE, KY – On Tuesday, August 24, 2004 Mayor Jerry Abramson was joined by Michael Liu, Assistant Secretary for Public and Indian Housing, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and other dignitaries at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the St. Peter Claver Sheppard Square Family Resource Center at 11:00AM.

In 2002, the Archdiocese of Louisville donated St. Peter Claver to the Louisville Metro Housing Authority (LMHA). Renovated by YouthBuild in cooperation with LMHA, the facility will serve as a community and computer center, and house the Sheppard Square Public Housing Development’s Resident Council Office.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the St. Peter Claver Sheppard Square Family Resource Center located at 536 East Lampton Street, off Clay Street.
